Rolando The Majestic Devlog
Hi guys, this is the first part of the Devlog of our videogame project. We are a group of students making our first "big" game for the projects subject. We are studying videogames develop in U-Tad, Spain.
Before start, I must tell you how the projects subject works.
On the degree every year we had 2 subjects of project. On project 5 we needed to do 1 videogame per month and in projects 6 we had to choose one of those games to continue developing in projects 6. The game was assesed by our teachers and they decided if we could continue working on it in the last 2 subjects of projects.
The game started being a stealth game with some easy puzzles and the history of the game passed being two different times, present and past. That was the main mechanic of the game, how solve the puzzles between the 2 times.
The art style was taken on internet because this game just started like another small game from a degree subject, but some part of the environment and the characters were made by one of our partners.
In projects 6 the main mechanic of changing between the 2 times had a change. At first u just had to press a botton and it change the the world, holding the position where the character was. Now the character need to enter into a mirror and this mirror moves you to the same mirror but in the past.
This new mechanics bring us to have better puzzles because the mirror does not have the need to be in the same place than in the present.
Another new mechanic that we added in project 6 was for the past, the possession, the character can enter inside the enemies and controll them to interact with the environment.
At this time just was an enemy.
